Our Holiday Barn Sale ~ 2018

Who would have thought that it would feel like a winter wonderland in the barn right now as we get ready for our upcoming Holiday Barn Sale?  It seriously feels like we just held our Fall Sale and with the crazy weather patterns we have been having, the seasons seem all muddled! Speaking of mulling, we will be having a variety of artisanal food vendors at our sale which opens this week with our Preview Holiday Tea on Wednesday the 7th of November. Mulled cider will be served along with food tastings of a variety of delectable goodies that you can gift or prepare for your holiday celebrations. I wanted to take the time to introduce you to some of our guests below!

On the sipping side, we have invited Mingle Mocktails whose bottled “mocktails” do not include alcohol but all the taste of the rest of the fresh flavors they are infused with.

Alongside Mingle in our old dairy stable will be the ever amiable and knowledgeable Barista Ethan from Burlap and Bean Coffee, giving samples of their delicious small batch roasted coffees and making available bags of their locally roasted coffees.

On the delectable side… appearances with her yummy creations will be made by our tried and true and irresistible cookie baker Loraine from Blake’s Mother’s Cookies.

Along with her crowd favorite shortbread cookies,

Loraine will be bringing her homemade cranberry sauce and her raw honey caramel sauce that you can drizzle over her homemade pies that you can preorder at the sale to be picked up on our Pop Up Farm Market Day, November 20th. (More information below)

If you are craving something other than cookies or pies, Katie from Katie Jane Confections will be selling her small batch artisanal fudge.

Karen will be back with her crowd pleaser Mojo’s Popcorn.

And introducing for the first time at our Barn Sale, Bing and his family will be setting up their full fledged family farm stand with all of their organic produce, honey and cider from their farm Stony Hill!

Along with taking home their farm fresh produce,

the farm will be taking orders for their pasture raised turkeys, chickens, ducks and geese. All of which aside from being ethically and sustainably pasture raised are fed with an organic non-GMO soy free diet. You will be able to order the size of bird that you need and pick it up back at our barn on November 20th where more fixin’s for your feast will be available and the barn will be open for a couple of short hours before the Thanksgiving Holiday. We are so excited to be hosting Stony Hill Farm at our farm this sale!

Whiskey Hollow Maple Syrups will be here with their rich and delicious syrups and mustards available for gifting and pouring over those pies and into your coffee from Burlap and Bean.

We have brought in a new jewelry vendor to support the local arts community so along with our offerings from one of our favorites, Elements Jill Schwartz, you will be able to peruse the collection from no. 27 collection.

To add to your fashion and accessories, we have invited Marlo Maglia back with her sumptuous capes and fashion.

We are also happy to welcome Barbro and Betty for their first time appearance here, a mother/4 year old daughter team who loves to design and sew fun, whimsical, classy, twirly dresses, that will be sure to get you a complement or two whenever you wear one of their art pieces.

Kelly Lowe will be bringing her chalk art selections for Holiday gifting and decor. She is adorable and so is her work!

We are also so very excited to be launching our very first product made for us by Zoet Bathlatier.

Of course, not only will our exclusively designed candle scents be available at the sale but a host of Ilka’s scintillating scented artisinal bath and body products will be here. Photos will be coming soon so stay tuned!

Along with all of our fabulous artisans that we have invited to the Holiday sale, you will find a huge selection of Christmas and Thanksgiving decor, one of a kind vintage pieces, unique gift items, and fabulous furniture pieces to interject a little bit of the patina and sparkle of life into your home for the upcoming Holiday season! Of course, as always, your purchases will be going towards a great cause, for a portion of all sales, excluding the vendors, will be going towards our charitable organization for this sale.

Let me introduce you to this fabulous local organization, the Women’s Resource Center, who one friend described as “never having seen how much this small organization accomplishes with such a small office staff.” Their mission is to help women and girls successfully navigate life’s transitions and inspire others to do the same. By providing resources, tools and support for today, they create hope for tomorrow. They accomplish this support by their helpline, family law advising, and a unique blend of counseling and case management services, to name a few, which meet their clients at a point of transition in their lives. Women who might utilize these services could be any of the following:

  • A middle aged woman who quit her job due to stress and medical issues, but now needs help planning her path.
  • A single mom facing eviction.
  • A married woman who feels stuck because her husband has been controlling the family finances.
  • A college student who wants her parents to see her as an adult, but still needs help navigating the complicated relationships and pressures of college life.

The Woman’s Resource Center is housed right on West Wayne Avenue in Wayne, PA. Come learn more about them at our Holiday Preview Tea on Wednesday November 7th from 11:30-2. We have a few more tickets available but they are going fast. There is always a rush to grab them the week before a sale!
